Cadillac Selects Bottas & Perez – Dutch GP Highlights
Formula 1 returns with the Dutch Grand Prix this week, and for anyone who missed the news, so do Sergio Perez and Valtteri Bottas in 2026. Cadillac F1 (America’s official new team, joining the grid alongside Haas) has chosen experience over youth to lead its debut campaign.
It’s a wise move. Entering F1 in a new homologation year (2026) will be a challenge, and both Bottas and Perez bring the experience needed to guide development.
Meanwhile, rumors are already swirling about Colton Herta making the jump to F2 in 2026 and then to F1 in 2027.
But does Cadillac F1 really need an American driver? I’d say—why not? As long as the driver has genuine talent and isn’t forced through the system, as Logan Sargeant arguably was, I’m all for it.
2025 Dutch Grand Prix
- Heading into the 2025 Dutch Grand Prix, the betting odds favor Oscar Piastri, who leads the field thanks to six wins this season and only two missed podiums in 14 starts.
- Never rule out Verstappen, as he’s done many times before at his home GP. Regardless if he’s driving a terrible Red Bull race car, the 4x Champs’ scrappy nature will guide him to a podium again.
- All eyes are on Ferrari and Lewis Hamilton to see if he can turn his brutal year around.
- The same goes for Mercedes F1. We now know Antonelli was very close to being benched for 2026. Luckily, Verstappen opted not to leave Red Bull Racing
