Embracing Bespoke Elegance
Cadillac has unveiled the SOLLEI concept, an all-electric, luxury convertible that redefines bespoke vehicle design. This forward-looking model showcases Cadillac’s vision for custom-commissioned vehicles, reflecting the unique passions of its clientele.
At the heart of the SOLLEI is an exquisite 55-inch pillar-to-pillar screen, an awe-inspiring interior, and exterior lighting choreography designed to enhance every arrival and departure. Its intuitive command consoles in both the front and rear redefine convenience and luxury.
The name SOLLEI, derived from ‘sun’ (SOL) and ‘leisure’ (LEI), perfectly encapsulates Cadillac’s inspiration for a luxurious, open-air lifestyle. “SOLLEI reimagines the discovery of travel, envisioning a personalized driving experience that connects one with the natural world around them,” said Erin Crossley, design director at Cadillac. The vehicle’s design celebrates Cadillac’s legacy of elegant convertibles, bringing it into a modern era of high luxury.
Sustainable Luxury and Impeccable Craftsmanship
The SOLLEI concept marks a milestone as Cadillac’s first vehicle to feature bio-based materials developed in collaboration with MycoWorks. Fine Mycelium™, made from the renewable root structure of mushrooms, is used in charging mats and door map pockets, reflecting Cadillac’s commitment to sustainable automotive innovation.
The exterior design of the SOLLEI is a masterpiece, exuding emotion through bold proportions and a low, elongated body. The “Manila Cream” finish, originally used on Cadillacs in the late ’50s, has been meticulously revived and hand-painted by Cadillac craftsmen.
Inside, the SOLLEI embodies Cadillac’s “art of travel” philosophy. The interior features include a fully integrated beverage chiller with crystal glasses, illuminated décor, and unstained wood veneers that showcase natural color and grain variations. The craftsmanship extends to marquetry techniques, with hand-cut and hand-laid pieces that create a stunning visual flow from the front to the rear.
Personalization and Celestial Inspiration
Cadillac elevates personalization through distinguished ambient lighting with 126 color options. The SOLLEI caters to bird-watching enthusiasts with a custom accessory kit, including 3D printed bird calls and a leather-bound journal with hand-painted illustrations.
The vehicle’s design celebrates the celestial environment with sun-themed features like sunburst lighting, pink iridescent leather, and an “Aurora” tint on metal finishes. The metallic convertible roof fabric, named “Daybreak,” and boucle-textured floormats called “Bask” further enhance the interior’s light and airy feel.
A Tribute to Iconic Heritage
The SOLLEI concept continues Cadillac’s tradition of bespoke expression, offering a modern twist on classic open-air design. Officially unveiled at Cadillac House at Vanderbilt, a state-of-the-art facility at GM’s Global Technical Center, the SOLLEI represents the brand’s vision for the future of luxury travel.
