Max Verstappen secured his second victory of the 2025 Formula 1 season at the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix in Imola, holding off a strong challenge from McLaren teammates Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri. Verstappen’s win came after a decisive first-corner overtake on polesitter Piastri and was aided by two well-timed safety car periods that helped him manage tire wear and maintain the lead.

Robert Shwartzman Shocks Indy 500 Field with Pole Position
At the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, rookie Robert Shwartzman stunned the IndyCar world by claiming pole position for the 2025 Indianapolis 500 in his first-ever oval race.
Shwartzman posted an impressive four-lap average speed of 232.790 mph in the Fast 6 qualifying session, narrowly edging out veteran Takuma Sato and Pato O’Ward.

- Shwartzman’s pole was a surprise highlight amid a weekend marked by setbacks for Team Penske, with Scott McLaughlin crashing in practice and both Josef Newgarden and Will Power disqualified from qualifying due to technical infringements;
- Other front-row starters included Takuma Sato in second and Pato O’Ward in third, with Scott Dixon and Felix Rosenqvist rounding out the top five;
