- Ricciardo F1 RB Racing Struggles continue Return
- George Russel is the clear favourite at Mercedes F1
- Ferrari are morons for losing Sainz
Max Verstappen reaffirmed his dominance in the Formula 1 arena by clinching victory at the Japanese Grand Prix, securing his third win of the 2024 season. The triumph comes as a remarkable return to form for the Dutch driver, following a setback in Australia where a retirement disrupted his winning streak. Verstappen’s teammate, Sergio Perez, added to Red Bull’s glory by securing a commendable second place, culminating in a dominant one-two finish for the team.
The race started with high drama as a collision between Alex Albon and Daniel Ricciardo resulted in both cars careening into the barriers. While the incident raised initial concerns, both drivers emerged unscathed. However, the severity of the crash necessitated a red flag, halting proceedings momentarily as track repairs were undertaken. Once the circuit was deemed safe, the race resumed, with Verstappen once again showcasing his impeccable racecraft by delivering a flawless restart and establishing a commanding lead.
RESULTS
From that point onwards, Verstappen’s path to victory seemed assured as he maintained his composure and exhibited exceptional skill, ultimately crossing the finish line in first place. Perez, displaying commendable consistency and resilience, trailed closely behind to secure a well-deserved second position.
Meanwhile, the battle for the remaining podium spots unfolded amidst intense competition. Carlos Sainz, exhibiting stellar driving prowess, maneuvered past his Ferrari teammate Charles Leclerc in the race’s closing stages to clinch the final podium position. Despite Leclerc’s valiant efforts and a well-executed one-stop strategy, he had to settle for fourth place.
Further down the grid, Lando Norris emerged as the lead McLaren driver, securing a respectable fifth-place finish.
Fernando Alonso showcased his enduring skill and determination by clinching sixth place for Aston Martin. At the same time, George Russell and Oscar Piastri engaged in a thrilling late-race duel, ultimately finishing seventh and eighth respectively.
Lewis Hamilton’s struggles continued, but crossed the line in ninth place, while Yuki Tsunoda clinched the final points-paying position in tenth place.
