An Unforgettable Weekend of EV Racing Energy
I’ve followed Jaguar TCS Racing since their Formula E debut in 2016. Their passion for innovation and speed? Undeniable.
But it’s Mitch Evans who’s kept me loyal. I’ve watched him evolve from a young star to a team leader. Last season, he helped Jaguar clinch their first Formula E World Championship. Yet heartbreak struck—he narrowly missed the Driver’s title. Again.
So when JLR invited me to join them at Round 5 in Miami, my reply was instant: “HELL YES!”

From the start, it was first-class. Hotel 1 Miami offered great views and ultimate calm before race-day chaos. But the real treat? An invite to “A Celebration of Jaguar and the Future of Creativity” atop Land Rover North Dade. The highlight? Seeing the Jaguar Type 00 concept—bold, electric, and a vision of what’s next.
Then came trackside thrills. Garage access with Jaguar TCS Racing. Watching engineers in action and catching all the buzz—it was electric, literally. And sharing a meal with Team Principal James Barclay at Jaya, inside The Setai Miami? Unreal.
We spoke about karting (he still competes and me being raised on a kart track) to his rise to the top of Formula E. We spoke for three hours straight – such an incredible experience.
Any motorsport Grid Walk is memorable. Watching all teams in action before the start of a race is gratifying. The last-minute hustle and fixes, you can truly feel the anxiousness of the drivers and crew.
Race day didn’t go Jaguar’s way. Mitch Evans got caught in a crash that wasn’t his fault. Nick Cassidy received a 5-second penalty. Still, the team’s spirit is unshaken. On to the next one.
Stay tuned for my upcoming tech-focused video from the paddock. You’ll see what makes Formula E the most technology-focused motorsport on the planet.
