Rimac Unveils Limited 15th Anniversary Nevera Hypercar

Nine bespoke units mark 15 years of innovation

In 2009, Mate Rimac founded Rimac Automobili despite being advised against it. In 2011, he broke world records with his self-converted all-electric BMW, a 1984 3-series.

In 2018, Rimac Automobili announced the world’s first all-electric hypercar, the Nevera, which exceeded all expectations in just three years.

To celebrate 15 years of achieving the impossible, Rimac revealed the limited-run 15th Anniversary Edition of the Nevera. Only nine bespoke examples will be built. The first car, in a new copper shade with matte paint, debuts this edition. Copper was chosen for its celebratory and energy associations and practical use in electrical cables. A visible carbon fibre split adds a striking gloss contrast.

Each of the nine cars features exclusive dual-color alloy wheels, 15 Years Anniversary badging, and a distinctive Rimac pattern mimicking circuit board connections. The interior includes copper anodized switchgear and surfaces, enhancing its celebratory theme. A special “one-of-nine” and “2009-2024” script adorns the armrest, distinguishing this edition from other Nevera models. The cabin can be finished in bold black or pristine white, with contrasting copper leather seats and “15” embossed headrests.

Priced at €2,350,000, the 15th Anniversary Edition includes all options and bespoke luggage matching the car’s interior. The first of these nine exclusive units will debut at the 2024 Goodwood Festival of Speed, tackling the iconic hill climb where the Nevera Time Attack edition set a record in 2023 with a time of 49.32 seconds.

Mate Rimac, CEO of Rimac Group, reflected: “Honestly, when I started to tinker with my first car in a garage, I couldn’t have even dreamt of being where we are 15 years later.

There were so many times in the early years that we really thought the company wouldn’t make it, so reaching the 15-year milestone felt like it was worthy of a celebration. The 15th Anniversary Edition Nevera is the car that marks our progress, revealing just how far we’ve come. From garage to global; from worrying about keeping the lights on to a 2bn EUR valuation; from converted BMW 3 Series to the world’s fastest accelerating production car and from hypercar maker to Tier 1 EV tech supplier and energy storage pioneers. All achieved in a country where all of this would have sounded like science fiction at the time of founding the company.”

Since its inception, Rimac has grown from one man’s dream to a conglomerate with over 2,200 employees across four European countries. Today, Rimac Group includes Bugatti Rimac, Rimac Technology, and Rimac Energy. The Rimac Campus, a 100,000 m² HQ and production facility near Zagreb, is already complete, with Phase 2 soon underway.

The Nevera, a bespoke creation, is the world’s most powerful production car. Last year, it set 27 performance records. Key to its speed is an advanced battery system, powertrain, and in-house software. The front and rear powertrains each have two individual motors providing power to each wheel. A 1MW dual inverter at the rear enables 900Nm and 450kW per motor. An entirely bespoke front powertrain ensures optimum power and control. All systems are managed by in-house developed electronic control units and an NVIDIA Pegasus-based supercomputer.
