Ladies and gentlemen, start your engines! The automotive world is about to converge on the Motor City once again as we gear up for the highly anticipated 2023 Detroit Auto Show. This year promises to be a thrilling spectacle, where innovation, performance, and style take center stage. Buckle up as we provide you with a tantalizing teaser of what to expect at this year’s event!

Electric Dreams Come True:

Electric vehicles (EVs) are not just a trend; they’re the future, and Detroit is embracing it wholeheartedly. Get ready to witness the unveiling of cutting-edge EV models that promise to redefine the electric driving experience. With longer ranges, faster charging times, and mind-boggling tech features, these EVs are set to change the game.

The Detroit Auto Show will include a new indoor EV Experience that affords visitors the chance to immerse themselves in a wide range of electric vehicles. Sitting alongside a professional driver, show-goers will traverse through a serpentine track that includes an acceleration lane stretching more than 300 feet.

BMW, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Ford, GMC, Tesla and Volkswagen will be showing off their EVs on the new Powering Michigan EV Experience indoor track ride-along activation, sponsored by the Powering Michigan team of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 58 and the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA).  Outside of Huntington Place, Ford and Tesla will offer street course ride-and-drives.  There, show visitors will get a chance to get behind the wheel and take products for a spin along the Detroit riverfront over portions of the Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix downtown race circuit.

Executive Two Day Symposium

The Mobility Global Forum will be held concurrently with Media and Technology Days at the 2023 Detroit Auto Show. This executive two-day symposium will address the changing world of mobility and transportation and feature C-level keynotes from the world’s leading OEM’s. The trends and issues facing today’s ever-changing automotive industry will be discussed. Fireside chats and themed panels are also being scheduled as hosted by industry journalists. Fully equipped stages with seating will be located on the main show floor.

AutoMobili-D Showcase

The AutoMobili-D technology showcase (AMD), now in its eighth year, will be bigger than ever, occupying 85,000 sq. ft. on the main show floor in Hall D.  The expanded exhibit area will feature an innovative cross section of 53 mobility and technology displays as well as 150 startups in the Plug and Play Detroit Startup Arena.  AutoMobili-D is powered by the Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) and the Office of Future Mobility and Electrification.  A complete listing of companies on display can be found at https://naias.com/automobili-d/ and https://naias.com/startups/.

Visitors to the AMD area on the main show floor will see innovative and future technologies ranging from inventive software and AI platforms to advanced charging stations, drones and the latest research and development from leading universities.

New Vehicles and an All-New Luxury Showcase

Show-goers can expect to see Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Chrysler, Dodge, Fiat, Ford, GMC, Jeep, Kia, Lexus, Lincoln, Ram, Toyota, and Volkswagen as part of corporate/region-supported vehicle displays.  Adding to the complement of brands for show audiences to explore and enjoy will be dealer-supported vehicle displays representing Alfa Romeo, Aston Martin, Audi, Bentley, BMW, Honda, Hyundai, Infiniti, Jaguar, Lamborghini, Land Rover, Maserati, McLaren, Mercedes-Benz, Mini, Polestar, Porsche, Rolls-Royce and Volvo.  Additionally, show officials report there will be a “few surprises” added to the list.

A new addition to this year’s show will feature a collection of some of the most prestigious automotive marques in the world as part of the show’s exclusive Exotic and Luxury Showcase.  A magnet for supercar enthusiasts, the area will be open throughout the duration of the show.  It will also present show visitors with a look at what might be considered another “exotic” in the world of personal mobility, a futuristic flying car from California-based Alef Aeronautics.
