- Stewart-Haas Racing NASCAR Operation Shutdown
- FIA President Grows Some Balls and Tells Andretti to Buy a Team
- F1’s Most Controversial Man Set to Make a Comeback
By now you know the Stewart-Haas Racing NASCAR team is shutting down at the end of 2024 leaving four drivers out of jobs and countless staff unemployed. We act like this was a surprise, but it wasn’t. Let’s be honest. Stewart-Haas Racing has sucked for years, and there have been rumours for a long time this was going to happen. Now that it has, we act surprised. Co-owner Tony Stewart has been disengaged for a long time since he focused on his now-defunct oval series, SRX (Superstar Racing Experience).
The question now becomes: should Tony’s co-owner, Gene Haas sell his team in F1 as well, and eliminate his motorsport portfolio and laugh all the way to the bank?
Gene’s a billionaire doesn’t need the money, but he’s not getting any younger either. So we’ll see.
That brings us to ever evolving F1 saga involving Andretti’s F1 aspirations.
FIA President, Mohammed Ben Sulayem finally grew a set of balls this week and told Michael Andretti to buy an existing F1 team. Using the US Government to try to swindle his way into F1 is just bad for business.
And the truth is – All current F1 Teams don’t want to share in the money pot.
So, will Haas F1 finally sell? Properly not as rumours suggest Gene hates Andretti. So, will Alpine sell to Andretti? We’ll see. I for one wouldn’t miss the all-French outlet, especially Ocon leave the grid. He’s a weapon on track!
Is F1’s Most Controversial Man aka Flavio Briatore making a comeback? He used to lead the Renault F1 Team and now news outlets like motorsport.com are suggesting Alpine F1 will use Briatore in an advisory roll.
Like him or hate him, Briatore is a man who knows how to get things done, albeit not always the “legal” way, but this is racing… If you’re not cheating, you’re not racing. Or maybe that’s just the NASCAR or IndyCar way.
F1 is on a break this week, but here’s the IndyCar Detroit schedule:
