It’s Race Week: F1 Returns But Has Anything Changed?

What F1 Pre-Season Testing Has Taught us

  • Red Bull Racing is still ahead of the field, but by how much?
  • Ferrari and Mercedes are set to battle again
  • Will 2024 be the year Gene Haas sells his F1 Team
  • Guenther Steiner Returns as TV Personality (that didn’t take long)

F1 is set kickoff their 2024 season this weekend in Bahrain following 3-days of testing at the same circuit.

formula1.com shared two graphs which summed up testing.  Can we expect more Red Bull dominance in 2024, probably, but Ferrari and Mercedes are closing in.

Earlier in the week, Aston Martin F1 driver, Fernando Alonso, was quoted as saying, 19 drivers already know they won’t win the World Championship.  With 20+ years of F1 experience, Alonso probably isn’t wrong, but that doesn’t mean things won’t be interesting from 3rd position to 20th.

Our prediction, Red Bull Racing will dominate, but not as much.  Ferrari and Mercedes will fight again, but we believe the Ricciardo lead VISA Cash APP RB Racing Team will be the ones to watch.

Aston Martin, McLaren, RB Racing and Alpine will make for interesting battles as well again in 2024.

The new MoneyGram Haas F1 Team Principal, Ayao Komatsu has stated his team will continue to struggle.  So, will 2024 be the year Gene Haas sells to Cadillac/Andretti, or will be tuff it out until after 2025?

Lastly, Guenther Steiner returns to the F1 paddock with German broadcaster, RTL.  If you binged the Netflix docuseries, Drive to Survive S6 over the weekend, you knew Guenther wouldn’t return to the team.

Looking forward to Formula 1 2024, Let’s Go!
