New Power Unit to debut post-Indy 500 2024

Rigorous track testing ensued for the 2.2L V-6 engine with hybrid tech, covering 15,256 miles in three months. The post-Indy 500 debut signals an exciting 2024 series season, marking a competitive era.

Collaborating seamlessly Chevrolet, and Honda have conducted comprehensive testing mirroring series disciplines, enhancing the unit’s adaptability on iconic tracks like Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Road America, and Sebring.
The hybrid power unit, integrating the Motor Generator Unit (MGU) and Energy Storage System (ESS), resides within the bellhousing, offering drivers enhanced control through additional overtake (“push-to-pass”) options, fostering on-track excitement.
Come 2024, the NTT INDYCAR SERIES season promises an evolution in track records with lighter chassis components, as the hybrid system amplifies engineering precision and wheel-to-wheel competition.
