Pole-sitter Denny Hamlin dominated, leading 58 laps and passing teammate Ty Gibbs for the win in the 2024 Clash at the Coliseum. The win marks Hamlin’s first win in Los Angeles, and fourth Clash win overall (2006, 2014 and 2016 – all at Daytona).
Transitioning to the race’s standout performers, Gibbs showcased prowess, leading 84 laps before a late altercation relegated him to an 18th-place finish. Notably, Toyota Camry drivers dominated, with six securing main event spots. Reigning Rookie of the Year, Gibbs, showcased strength before misfortune struck, while last year’s champion, Martin Truex Jr., managed a ninth-place finish. LEGACY MOTOR CLUB’s John Hunter Nemechek, in Toyota’s debut with the team, secured 13th place.
The debut of the Toyota Camry XSE marked a formidable showing, with Toyota drivers leading 141 of 150 laps, underscoring the model’s potential dominance in the NASCAR arena.
