Ferrari Finish 1-2 After Verstappen Retirement
In my opinion, Carlos Sainz is the most under-appreciated driver on the grid. Currently, for the 2025 F1 season he’s jobless, but after the Australian Grand Prix where he’s quoted as saying “this will help,” it’s only a matter of where he’ll go.
Red Bull, maybe….
2024 Australian Grand Prix Highlights
- Max Verstappen retires after a brake fire
- Ferrari finish 1st and 2nd
- Sainz wins Driver of the Day
- Lando Norris was 3rd while local favourite, Piastri finishes 4th
- Daniel Ricciardo who started last after his quail lap was deleted finished P12
- Yuki Tsunoda is proving his worth and earned more points for the team finishing P8 (but he moves up to P7 after a driver penalty following the race. Keep reading for more on this)
- Haas F1 is the most improved with more points collected for the team (Nico 9th and K. Mag 10th)
Following the conclusion of the Australian GP, Aston Martin F1 Driver, Fernando Alonso who finished 6th on track and one position ahead of his team, Lance Stroll was handed a 20-second penalty for purposefully crashing Mercedes AMG F1 driver, George Russel on the last lap.
