Actor-turned-racer joins Reaume Brothers Racing full-time
Earlier this year, during the Daytona 500 weekend, I had the unique pleasure of interviewing Frankie Muniz for our Cars without Sausage podcast. The former child actor, best known for his iconic role in Malcolm in the Middle, is not just another celebrity chasing thrills behind the wheel.
As I learned firsthand, Muniz is a serious race car driver with a clear passion for motorsports. His humility and genuine love for racing struck me as much as his welcoming personality, making our conversation feel like chatting with a lifelong friend. And now, Muniz’s journey is taking another major step forward.
Reaume Brothers Racing announced Tuesday (October 22’ 24) that Muniz will be the full-time driver of the No. 33 Ford for the 2025 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series season. Having made two starts with the team this season—at Nashville and Kansas—Muniz is already familiar with the group. With two races remaining this year, he is focused on continuing to build chemistry with the team while further developing his racing notebook for the future.
Muniz couldn’t contain his excitement about the opportunity: “I’m incredibly excited to join Reaume Brothers Racing full-time in 2025. My longstanding relationship with Ford has been a game changer, and I am thrilled to help facilitate additional support allowing us to tap into their exceptional technical and engineering resources. I’m confident that this synergy will elevate Reaume Brothers Racing and help us achieve great things together.”
This move comes after a strong showing in the 2023 ARCA Menards Series, where Muniz earned one top-five and 11 top-10 finishes, ultimately placing fourth in the points standings. His connection with Ford Performance, which began in 2023, has only deepened as he has gained experience racing in the NASCAR Xfinity Series and Mustang Challenge Series.
Team owner Josh Reaume echoed the optimism, stating, “We’re thrilled to welcome Frankie to our team full-time and to expand our relationship with Ford Performance.
Their support has been invaluable, and we believe that with Frankie’s passion and our collective momentum from this year, we can make significant strides in the upcoming season.”
In 2025, Muniz’s No. 33 Ford will also carry the backing of More Core Diamond Drilling Services & Nugget Trap, who will serve as a primary sponsor for 10 races. Fans eager to see him back in action can catch his upcoming race at Homestead-Miami Speedway this Saturday, as he returns to the track in the No. 22 Ford for the Baptist Health 200.
From my perspective, based on that interview earlier this year, it’s clear that Muniz’s journey isn’t just a fleeting venture into racing. It’s a dedicated pursuit by a man who’s been honing his skills and now stands ready to make his mark full-time on the NASCAR stage.
