The mid-size pickup landscape is about to witness a seismic shift as Toyota unveils the highly anticipated 2024 Tacoma, poised to rewrite the rules of modern trucking. Tacoma has been an undisputed force in the mid-size pickup arena

Cyril Dimitris, Vice President of Toyota Canada Inc., reflected on the Tacoma’s illustrious history: “Since its debut in 1995, the Toyota Tacoma has been an undisputed force in the mid-size pickup arena. Its unwavering reliability, potent performance, comfort, versatility, and distinctive style have solidified its position as the segment leader for nearly two decades. The challenge for our designers and engineers was clear: how do you elevate a truck that has consistently exceeded expectations? The result is the all-new 2024 Tacoma, setting a higher standard for excellence.”

Completely reimagined from the ground up for the 2024 model year, the Tacoma rides on the TNGA-F global truck platform, shared with the Tundra, Sequoia, and Land Cruiser. A robust high-strength boxed, steel-ladder frame forms the foundation, catering to the diverse needs of off-road enthusiasts. The spotlight shines on the groundbreaking coil spring multi-link rear suspension, a standard feature across all Canadian grades. This innovation enhances the overall ride and handling, delivering an exceptional driving experience on any terrain.

Powering this new generation Tacoma are two dynamic engine options, each designed to elevate both performance and efficiency. The standard i-FORCE 2.4-liter turbocharged engine roars to life with an impressive 278 horsepower and 317 lb.-ft. of torque. For those craving even more power, the i-FORCE MAX hybrid steals the show, boasting a staggering 326 horsepower and an industry-leading 465 lb.-ft. of torque – a true powerhouse in the mid-size truck segment.
